Untitled - New City acrylic painting
I've always been interested in the urban environment of today's world, as a building can be both nurturing and threatening at the same time. Depending on one's relationship to a specific building block or district, our experience changes completly, wether you're a tourist, a jogger, a factory worker or a banker.
Also, what are cities nowadays, as they seem to absorb and digest more and more people, while individuals seem to be left wandering around, alone and lost, in their own personal box?
In 2014, I first started to explore this relationship in an abstract series of paintings I called "City". This study is one of my first come back to this theme since "November City" painted in may 2016.
